Freedom Is Not Absolute
Freedom is one of the most abused words in modern life. People speak of freedom as if it means the right to do anything, say anything, abandon anything, and still be protected from consequence.
Freedom Requires Honor
Freedom is not the absence of boundaries. It is the discipline to live within boundaries that protect human dignity. A man is not free to dig a hole in a ship simply because he paid for his seat. His action threatens everyone on board.
The same principle applies to families, communities, and nations. A parent is not free to abandon a child. A leader is not free to exploit the weak. A citizen is not free to suppress the freedoms of others and still call himself a defender of liberty.
The Privilege of the Responsible
Freedom belongs to those who value it enough to protect it. When freedom is separated from responsibility, it becomes selfishness dressed in noble language.
The Story of Us begins here: with the understanding that dignity is not optional, honor is not outdated, and freedom without restraint can become another form of harm.
